Recently I was at Eben Pagen’s Accelerate Event where I both participated and was on stage with Eben as well.
The multiple lessons I learned that can have practical and significant impact on my business were numerous. As always, Eben’s content was awesome.
One of the lessons was the “Rabbit Hole”, which essentially refers to the activities that take us off our focused path to achieve or get done the most important things each day.
Getting caught up in non-important emails or Facebook can be Rabbit Holes.
For me the Rabbit Holes often involve doing tasks that are easy, yet time consuming and which provide a reward of getting something done…not the right thing but something. I organize my desk and files… oh that feels so good. Then realize the chapter of my book I was going to complete remained untouched yet another day.
Here’s the cool thing. Since coming back from Accelerate, I am immediately reminded I am heading down a Rabbit Hole by the voice in my head.
I can’t say I never end up going there anyway but I have reduced these times by 90%. And this helped me complete a 2 1/2 year project on my latest Business Accelerator program I will be releasing later this year.
So watch out for those Rabbit Holes that can steal away precious time and focus from the things that really help you get from where you are to where you want to be (as my friend Jay Abraham coined).
