- Survey your market so that you are continually in touch with and aware of what your prospects need. The more you understand a prospect’s need and address that need with your solution, the more prospects will become your customers.
- Communicate regularly, personally and consistently. A prospect may not be ready to buy now but they may in the future as their circumstances change. The goal is to catch them when they have a need. For example, a current supplier may go out of business or a prospect may suddenly become dissatisfied with his current supplier. Develop a sequence of messages delivered over time as opposed to simply promoting your company once expecting a sale.
- Always include a call to action in your communication, when it is time to ask for the order. Tell a prospect exactly what you want them to do.
- Give a prospect a compelling reason to buy from you now. For example, offer a special discount for a limited time period.
