The “HOW” is More Important Than the “WHAT”
I just finished interviewing Eben Pagan, an incredible entrepreneur that built a $20M online business using ALL virtual employees. It was an incredible, power packed interview that featured the “HOW”. I told Eben that we were starting a special interview teleseminar series for our members that is laser focused on the HOW - how to actually implement all those “what’s” you all have in your “great idea” library. He delivered in a big way. We both agreed that with the looming recession, the HOW is more critical than ever for ANY business.
We are in a new age of marketing awareness. This is the “age of implementation. We are leaving the “age of ideas”, and in its path of destruction are millions of companies that have spent billions of dollars learning (and making failed attempts) thousands of ideas without a clue HOW TO IMPLEMENT them. The fact is that you don’t need any new ideas.
Our survey of companies in 50 industries, which spent $5,000 or more on marketing seminars or training materials, showed that the challenge of implementing was 1 or 2 on 81% of these business owners list.
It’s amazing how McDonald’s can generate 30% of its profits from a simple “potent marketing tool” and yet few companies duplicate what they have been doing for 25+ years (and it still works as well as it did day one). In fact, I once heard it generates as much as 20% of McDonald’s profits!
Let me challenge you on this. We all know that building strategic alliances is an ultra-successful business growth strategic. Just look around and you will see these relationships everywhere in corporate America. And you likely have heard many marketing “guru’s” share this strategy as well.
Great! But do you know HOW to execute a systematic strategic alliance (or Power Affiliate) program? How to develop a win-win proposition to take to them? How to approach them? How to structure a deal that works for both of you? How to make them feel protected that you will not damage their customer relationship, how to avoid liability, how to dissolve the relationship in a positive way, how to create or avoid creating non competitive or exclusive territories, and so on?
